As we all know, every new year tends to come with resolutions or goals to change our lives. As we continue to move forward one step at a time, focus on where you are and where you want to be. Your resolutions don’t need to be the same as everyone else’s or include the top five things that are usually included in these new goals.
No matter if you have new year resolutions at the beginning of the year or make them month over month, we cannot wait to enjoy the year with so much to come.
Here are three positive thoughts to keep in mind for the New Year:
- Put Yourself First: I know it’s hard but something as simple as waking up 15 minutes earlier to do some meditation is the time you can put yourself first. This small step will have a huge positive impact on your mental health and wellbeing for the remainder of the day.
- Step Outside Your Comfort Zone: Be open to change. Even though it is scary, even a small step will help broaden your level of comfort doing new things and will allow you to experience and enjoy things you never thought you could have before!
- Bring Self-Compassion: Wherever you are in your journey of life, in your career, bring self-compassion. It is always the hardest to be compassionate towards ourselves as we strive for success. But being kind to yourself is a “must do” part of your journey.
As we start fresh in 2023, the WiCyS Neurodiversity (ND) Affiliate feels renewed hope for our efforts within the Neurodiversity community in the cybersecurity industry. Many events have already been created and there are many more in the works. We know that this year will be OUR year to get everything we stand for and support to move forward and create positive change.
