Incident Response & Review Mini Sprint

September 23 – October 3, 2024

In this experience, you will take on the demanding role of a cybersecurity expert, delving deep into the intricacies of the NIST Incident Response Process Framework. Your hands-on journey will culminate in a crucial post-incident review, where you’ll brief key stakeholders on the incident’s details, your response actions, and crucial takeaways. As you progress through this Mini Sprint, you’ll not only hone your technical skills but also refine your ability to communicate complex issues succinctly to a varied audience.

Learner outcomes: 

  • Master the steps of the NIST Incident Response Process Framework.
  • Develop hands-on expertise in effectively responding to and mitigating security threats.
  • Learn to determine the proper audience for your incident review based on the severity of the incident.
  • Sharpen your communication skills to brief the target audience.

Creating & Implementing a Cybersecurity Program with AI Team Sprint

October 11 – October 28, 2024

In this experience, you and your teams will be responsible for creating and implementing an enterprise security program for a tech organization. You and your team will be considering all of the action items for a Security Project and managing them accordingly and securely. This may sound like a no-brainer, but a lot of planning and analysis is needed here. You will be working with various project stakeholders to ensure their needs are met, voices are heard, and most importantly that the project is completed on time, on-budget, and in the most secure, risk-free way possible.

Learner outcomes: 

  • Cybersecurity Fundamentals: Understand the core principles and components of a comprehensive cybersecurity program.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Learn how to identify, analyze, and mitigate potential security risks within an organization.
  • Implementation Strategies: Gain practical experience in deploying cybersecurity tools and technologies to protect organizational assets.

Available to:

  • Members with 0-3 years of cybersecurity industry experience.
  • Members who have completed their registration on the IBM Cybersecurity Fundamentals course website.
  • Members committed to completing the program.
  • Members willing to commit 10 hours (Mini Sprint) and/or 20 hours (Team Sprint).
