Welcome to the launch of the “WiCyS Stories” series, celebrating the life-changing impact of the WiCyS community and recognizing the diverse backgrounds and achievements of its members. Since its inception, the Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) organization has served as a beacon of empowerment, creating pathways for women to build life-changing careers in cybersecurity. With a mission to recruit, retain and advance women in the field, WiCyS offers mentorship, skill development programs, critical networking opportunities, events and resources that empower women and allies to enter the cybersecurity realm and thrive within it. Driven by a vision of an inclusive cybersecurity workforce, WiCyS fosters an environment where everyone feels empowered to reach their full potential.
Each narrative in this collection highlights the resilience and success of women at various stages of their careers—from military spouses and veterans transitioning into cybersecurity to professionals on non- traditional career paths and students and faculty expanding their horizons. With the unwavering support of the WiCyS community and the vital role of our Strategic Partners, these women have reached remarkable milestones and embraced transformative opportunities.
